In short
The contact form on this website does not send anything to us by itself. It turns what you type into an email draft and opens it in your own mail app. The inquiry reaches us only if you then send that email yourself.
What happens to what you type
- The form is processed entirely in your browser. This website has no form endpoint, database or mail service, so the text is not transmitted to or stored on our web server.
- The email draft contains the fields you filled in (name, company or organisation, email, application and problem, and any optional details), plus the page language and the page address you wrote from, so we know which page you came from.
- If your mail app does not open, the same text is shown on the page for you to copy. It stays in your browser and disappears when you leave the page.
- You can edit or delete anything in the draft before sending it.
Once you send the email
The email travels from your own mail provider to zhangxiaochen@newmater.cn, like any other email. We use it only to read and reply to your inquiry and, if you wish, to continue the conversation about a possible project. It may be shared within the NEWMAT team in China and with our Bay Area contact where needed to answer you. We keep it in our mailbox for as long as needed to handle the inquiry and any resulting project. We do not use it for newsletters, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.
Please do not include confidential technical information in a first email. If it needs to be exchanged, we can agree on an NDA first.
Cookies, analytics and third parties
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising trackers, and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or chat widgets. All files are served from this website. Like any web server, the hosting server may keep standard technical access logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) for security and operations; these logs never contain form content, because form content is never sent to the server.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete an email you sent, or ask what we hold about you, by writing to the address below.
